In June we were successful in obtaining a grant for new play equipment on the recreation ground.

The grant is being made by FCC Communities Foundation. The amount is just over £22,000 and we will use it to buy some new multiplay equipment and refurbish the roundabout and swings.

The new multiplay will replace the old one and we hope to have it installed by the end of August. It has two decks with a bridge, a slide, steps up and a net rope ladder, and there are play panels at ground level including a mirror, shop, abacus, puzzle and binoculars.

 

There will be new panels for the roundabout made of hard wearing material, and new chains and seats will be fitted to the swings.

We have obtained the grant because we are less than ten miles from the nearest landfill site at Sutton Courtenay. FCC Communities Fund is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects using the Landfill Communities Fund.
