All Saints'Church Tower Light

Many thanks to all who donated to the church fund to light the tower.

In the autumn, the PCC decided to improve its lighting by putting in an additional two roof-top lights to illuminate obliquely the north and south faces of the tower and this has created a far more three-dimensional effect when the tower is seen from the village. The cost of this has been already covered by the generous donations that you have given and we would particularly like to thank a number of donors particularly: Margaret and Roger Buswell; Colin Dimmick; Faith Fitchett; Gillie and Nicko King; Dee and David Murray; Judith and Andre Ptaszynski; Winnie, Graham and Sue Sellar; Alison and Allan Smith; Lynda Ware and Marion West.   As a result of donations, we can leave the tower lit up until the end of February. It gave a pleasingly warm focus to the village over the Christmas period and we shall be able to put some money into general church funds.

One of the weeks was in memory of Chris Ware, who gave so much to church and village life and is warmly remembered, and on some other nights the light was also on to honour the memory of loved ones. There were also some birthdays that it celebrated and a great amount of sponsorship was simply for the pleasure of seeing it there.

We still face some long dark nights and the church tower light is there for sponsoring. As a guide, we suggest £40 to light it up for a whole week and £10 for one night and, if you prefer to give a smaller or a larger donation, that is OK too. Just let me know.
