Mark Chapman's Silver Jubilee - October 2020

E-mail Print

Many congratulations to our much-loved and greatly esteemed Associate Priest who celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordination as priest on 1st October.

Mark contributes so much to the Benefice, as well as being Vice Principal of Ripon College. A number of parishioners and students enjoyed marking this milestone with Mark at a special service held on Sunday 4th October at All Saints’ Church. Bishop Humphrey Southern’s sermon commemorating this special occasion can be found on the Benefice website www.gchparishes.co.uk/category/sermons/

Mark was ordained in 1995 at Dorchester Abbey by the then Bishop of Dorchester, Anthony Russell (who now regularly comes to Cuddesdon Church in retirement). He has served his whole ministry in the Aston and Cuddesdon Deanery, first as a non-stipendiary curate at Clifton Hampden, Long with Little Wittenham and Culham and from 1998 in the Benefice of Garsington, Cuddesdon and Horspath. As one-eighth a Cornishman he has also been Canon Theologian at Truro Cathedral since 2016.
