Garsington CE Primary School - October 2015

E-mail Print

As the new academic year at Garsington CE Primary begins I am very pleased to introduce myself as the new Headteacher following Karen Metcalfe’s retirement at the end of the last academic year.

This term I have really enjoyed getting to know the pupils and families and I look forward to getting to know the local community in the coming months. Visitors are always welcome to pop in and see all the wonderful things that are happening at our school.

I would also like to offer a warm welcome to our new cohort of Foundation Stage pupils and to their families and carers. Also, we welcome several other new pupils joining the school across the other year groups.

We have lots of exciting events happening in school this term. We are holding our Harvest Festival celebrations on Friday 9th October. There will be two services, one for Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 pupils at 1.45 at the school and the second for Key Stage 2 pupils starting at 2.30 at the church. Next term we will be holding a Remembrance service at 11.00 on 11th November and at the end of this week the children will be dressing up and raising money for Children in Need.

Our Christmas Fair this year is on Friday 4th December at 3.15pm, we will be advertising this in the local community.  Our Carol Concert for Senior Citizens will be held on Thursday 17th December at 2.30pm followed by tea and mince pies.

We look forward to seeing you at the various school events throughout the year.
