Wheatley Library - February 2017

The Friends of Wheatley Library had a very successful sale of books, crafts and cakes in December and we look forward to making an annual event of it.

The money raised will go to support the library with running events and buying books to add to our stock.  A big well done and thank you to all involved!

Oxfordshire library service is very fortunate that our libraries are all still open and have staff members but we couldn’t do it without the involvement of our volunteers from the community.  Another big thank you to everyone who gives up their free time to support the wonderful service the library provides.

The stock in the library is in a constant state of movement from one library to another so the books on our shelves are never the same from week to week.  Also, if you have specific suggestions for books to get, we are always happy to hear them.

Our local studies section is a terrific source of information about Wheatley and the surrounding areas ranging from anecdotes by locals to walks in the region to car manufacturing in Cowley.  It is well worth taking the time to browse.

We consistently have craft, and colourings for children (of all ages).

Our adult activities also continue as usual:
Craft sessions weekly
Coffee mornings monthly
Computer Buddy sessions fortnightly
Author talks every 3 months

For more information about any of the above come to the library during open hours or call us on 01865 875267
