The chosen corridor for the Oxford-Cambridge expressway has been announced by the government.

The option which has been selected could run to the south of Oxford near us or to the west of Oxford following or close to the A34, so effectively there is still not a decision on which route will be followed. Highways England are now starting a 12 month study of potential routes. By autumn 2019 they will have a shortlist of five or six ‘best options’ which they will take into a public consultation with a series of open meetings across the area.

You can read more about the expressway and see a map of the preferred corridor at the Expressway Action Group’s website.

The latest planning application for the development of Dovehouse Farm was submitted in January. The listed building part of this has been granted but a decision on the main application has not yet been made because there are some legal discussions taking place. The planning officer has recommended the application for approval. She has told me that the conditions which applied to the original application will also apply to this one. This will include a requirement to show how it is planned to handle the additional sewage, because the present system does not have sufficient capacity. I was recently asked about this by a concerned resident.

The sack of road salt at the top of Field Lane is almost empty and the County Council have agreed to provide a full replacement sack. They have also said they will refill the salt bins before the winter.

The annual RoSPA inspection of the play equipment on the recreation ground has been carried out, and there is no requirement for any maintenance work.
