Write Now to Help Us Get Some New Play Equipment

The Parish Council is eager to replace some of the play equipment on the recreation ground and we need your help by writing to us so we can obtain a grant to fund it.

The view in the village is that what most needs replacing is the multiplay equipment. It is very old and we are proposing replacing it with the Puzzle and Slide from a company called Sutcliffe. The multiplay is shown here.

The equipment has a slide and steps, There is a bridge so users can move between the two decks which each have access routes to the top. There are many play panels at ground level, with a mirror, shop, abacus, puzzle and binoculars to encourage imaginative play.

The equipment is designed for 3-10 year olds because the Parish Council thinks that is the most important age group to address.

We want to keep the roundabout because it is a favourite but we want to improve it. We would like to replace its panels with ones made from material which is durable. The present panels are made of wood and need painting and replacement fairly frequently.

We do not have enough money to pay for this project but we can obtain a grant for it funded from landfill tax because Sutton Courtenay landfill is less than ten miles away. One of the main factors which the grant provider uses to decide whether we will get the grant is if there is a strong desire in the local  community for the project.

Please write to the Parish Council at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to support this project. Say what a good idea you think it is to replace our multiplay equipment with something up to date and more adventurous, and that better equipment would get much more use from the local children. The more people who write, the greater the chance of us getting the grant.

Thank you for your help with this important project.
