From the Parish Council Chairman - November 2024

I don’t want to write about our local issues this month, even though there are many.

We have had a flood of concerns about the …. errr … flooding, the postal service and various other shambles at Council level, but we are incredibly lucky to live here in Cuddesdon and Denton.

When we conduct our Act of Remembrance on Cuddesdon Green on November 10th we will be thinking not only about all those who fell in the First and Second World Wars, but also about the conflicts that are continuing now.

The death of one of our great generals, Sir Mike Jackson, reminds me that the next war is never far away. He smoothed a way to end the Balkans war while the USA and the Russians were in danger of starting a wider conflict, and I hope we still have those leaders now.

I wish everyone a good build-up to the busy Christmas season, with hopefully a little less rain and regular visits to the pub.

Ohana,

Chris
