Parish News - June 2021

There is a lot of planning news this month.

The first is that the planning application at Willow Cottage to construct an extension (P20/S3991/HH) has been withdrawn. The listed building application at the same location for internal changes (P20/S3992/LB) has been granted.

A request has been made for minor changes to the listed building application for the barn conversions at Dove House Farm (P21/S2103/LB). The Parish Council has agreed to support this application.

There is also an application for discharge of conditions relating to the Dove House development (P21/S2016/DIS). This includes roads and footpaths, materials, contamination, drainage, wildlife protection and landscaping. The Parish Council is not asked for an opinion on the discharge of conditions.

There is an application for discharge of the contamination condition for the barn conversion at The Platt in Chippinghurst (P21/S1533/DIS).

A request has been made for a permitted development at 15 Parkside to build a single storey rear extension (P21/S2340/PDH). Again, the Parish Council’s view is not sought for this.

An application has been made for minor alterations to the existing annexe at Lower Farm in Denton (P21/S2499/LB). The Parish Council has supported this application.

The end of the Parish Council’s financial year is at the end of March, and the figures for the last year are displayed on the notice board, with more detailed information available on the website.

The Parish Council deficit for the year was just over £300, but we had bought the defibrillator for £1700 and provided more than £1000 from the World War 1 fund to help with payment for the document safe for the village archive. One significant expense we did not have was for bonfire night which was cancelled because of covid restrictions, but this did not affect the year end figure since the event breaks even because of receipts from ticket sales.

And finally, congratulations to Chris Luke for being elected Chairman of the Parish Council for the seventh year.
